JONESBORO, Ark. – Freshman Lauren Thompson carded a final 68 to vault into the top-10 and set a program record-low score while leading Lipscomb to its third consecutive top-five finish to start the season.
 
Thompson only grew stronger as the tournament progressed as she shot 76-72-68 on her way to a seventh overall finish. The freshman carded the third most pars in the tournament with 37 while recording nine birdies. Thompson also led all participants in Par 3 scoring at 2.83.
 
Mary Kate Smith turned in a strong performance as she shot 78-71-71. The name of the game was consistency as Smith recorded the second most Pars amongst the field with 38 on her way to a tie for 13^th place in the tournament.

"What a solid week! We started off very poorly in the first round. However, we did had some good moments in the first round to build momentum for the second round. I was super proud of the grind! It was the windiest I've ever seen in my coaching career. With that in mind, for the girls to grind it out like they did shows the reliance of the team. And then today to shoot a program record -2 is just incredible." said head coach Jesse Lawley. "We continue to break records, and that is all due to the work the girls are putting in week after week. It also helps with Lauren shooting four under 68 today which was a new program record. However, it was truly a team effort top to bottom. I couldn't be more proud of the squad! We will be ready to to break more records in about two weeks in Wofford" the coach added. 
 
NOTABLE:
 

• Thompson's final round of 68 (-4) is a program record-low
• As a team the Bisons came in two strokes under par in the third round for the first time in program history
• Lipscomb led the field in Par 3 with an average of 3.20 (+12)
• The Bisons recorded the most pars of any participating team with 172
• Lipscomb's 36 birdies give the team the fifth highest total among the field
• Thompson, Stout, and Wu all placed in the top-10 in Par 3
