HONG TIES FOR SIXTH AT WOLFPACK INTERCOLLEGIATE

RALEIGH, N.C. – Jason Hong finished the Wolfpack Intercollegiate in a tie for sixth place to claim his best finish as a Bison while boosting Lipscomb to a fourth-place finish overall on Sunday afternoon in Raleigh, N.C.
The tournament took an unusual form for the participants as competition was halted for one hour and 15 minutes halfway through the second round. The teams resumed play on Sunday with a shotgun start to finish the previous round before playing the third.
Hong shot 68-67-76 while carding the third-most birdies of the field with 14. In Par 5s the transfer dominated averaging a field-best 4.53. In the second round of play Hong carded three consecutive birdies on two separate occasions.
Alejandro Rodriguez also finished in the top-10 for Lipscomb shooting 73-70-70. Rodriguez turned in a consistent performance. The freshman ranked second in Par 3s averaging 2.87, while also ranking in the top-10 in Par 4s with an average of 4.08. Rodriguez carded 10 birdies overall.
"Really proud of the team this weekend! The men competed well for an entire 54 holes. Stats will show with a few small improvements and continued desire to improve, the team's best is coming!" said head coach Will Brewer. "Jason Hong had a very strong tournament, and except for a balky putter today, he was stellar with his driving & approach numbers. Jason finished 6th for his first top-10 showing for Lipscomb. Freshman Alejandro Rodríguez placed 9th to gain his first collegiate top 10 finish!" he added.
