BAHAMAS – Goldasich made a statement in the final round carding 66 after an up and down start to the tournament to lift the Bisons to a sixth-place finish at the White Sands Invitational Sunday afternoon in the Bahamas to finish off the fall season.
Goldasich started the tournament with a strong performance by scoring 70 in the first round. However, a stumble in the second round caused him to fall all the way to 39th place in the competition. Goldasich responded with an extraordinary round of 66 to vault all the way back into the top 15. The Alabama native carded seven birdies to finish the round six strokes below par and bring his overall score to -2. The junior's 15 birdies ranked third in the field while his scoring average in par 4s tied for the top rank.
Alejandro Rodriguez came through with yet another consistent performance. The freshman shot 71-74-71 to finish in a tie for 23rd place along with teammate Will Holan. Rodriguez's 37 pars ranked fifth in the field while Holan's 15 birdies ranked second in the competition.
HEAD COACH WILL BREWER:
"Extremely proud of our men today! Ford played very well today and kept us moving in the right direction. Jason Hong struggled however, he and the team fought all day!
Desire plays a huge part of success. This team has tremendous desire to compete. A few of the guys didn't have their "A" game today, but we're able to figure out a way to shoot a number which would help the team! It was a good finishing run to end the fall season!"
