NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb's standout freshman, Lauren Thompson delivered yet another impressive performance with a seventh-place finish as Lipscomb also placed seventh as a team at the French Broad Collegiate Invitational.
Thompson shot 77 in her first round before bouncing back with two rounds at 73 to put her ten strokes over par to finish the tournament. She ranked fourth in Par 4s scoring at an average of 4.11. She carded 32 pars, a mark that ranked fourth amongst the field. Thompson has finished in the top ten in every tournament she has participated in this season.
Mary Kate Smith also turned in a strong performance as she tied for fifteenth place shooting 73-77-77. Smith ranked fourth in Par 3s while carding the second most birdies in the field with a total of 12.
Lipscomb carded the second most birdies in among the field with 38. The Bisons also finished with a 4.36 scoring average in Par 4s; a mark that ranks fourth among the field
