LIPSCOMB TO FACE TENNESSEE IN NCAA TOURNAMENT

NASHVILLE, Tenn, - Lipscomb is set to make its third appearance in the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship field when the Bisons travel to Knoxville to take on the third seeded Volunteers on Friday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m., as revealed by the NCAA Selection show Monday afternoon.

The Bisons enter the competition coming off of their third ASUN Championship in four years where Lipscomb scored 11 goals and conceded none in their three tournament matches. Overall, the team posted a record of 15-4-1. The Bisons are ranked sixth in the South Region of the United Soccer Coaches Poll and rank 82nd in the RPI.

Lipscomb has had success in the power five conferences this year with a win in the season opener over SEC foe Mississippi State as well as the ACC's Miami Hurricanes. The team's one power-five loss came at home against Music City Rivals Vanderbilt in a hard-fought match. The Commodores own an overtime victory over Tennessee this season.

The Bisons have made two prior appearances to the NCAA Tournament and advanced one time. In 2018 Lipscomb made its debut with a thrilling 1-0 win over Mississippi State. After a second-round loss to Duke, the team returned to the tournament in 2019. This time Lipscomb matched up with 22nd ranked Louisville and fell by a score of 1-0.
