
Bisons Struggle at Murray State

THE SHORT STORY: Lipscomb struggled offensively Saturday night at the CFSB Center as it fell 74-50 to Murray State on the road.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Murray State got out to a hot start as Lipscomb struggled shooting and the Racers jumped out to a quick 12-2 lead.
Sydney Shelton sparked the Bisons' offense with back-to-back three-pointers to put Lipscomb back within a pair of baskets. Shelton's 6-0 run cut the Murray State lead 14-10.
The Racers scored the final basket of the quarter and held a 16-10 lead at the end of the first frame. Lipscomb continued to struggle from the floor in the second and Murray State took advantage, going on a 10-0 run to start the second quarter.
Shelton once again got the Bisons out of s scoring slump with Lipscomb's first basket in nearly five minutes to stop the bleeding.
Nicole Hemphill came off the bench as a bright spot for the Bisons and scored four-straight to cut the lead 35-18.
The Racers outscored the Bisons 21-9 in the second quarter and jumped out to a 37-19 lead heading into the halftime break.
Lipscomb continued to struggle from the floor and were outscored 23-15 in the third quarter for a 60-34 deficit heading into the final frame. The Bisons outscored the Racers 16-14 in the fourth quarter, but ultimately fell 74-50.
