Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Men's Basketball falls at No. 16 LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. – Lipscomb men's basketball ran into a buzz saw Wednesday night in Baton Rouge as the No. 16-ranked LSU Tigers defeated the Bisons 95-60 in front of nearly 11,000 fans inside the Pete Maravich Center.

Jacob Ognacevic led the Bisons with 12 points and seven rebounds, but it wasn't enough to withstand a season-high 12 made three-pointers from the home team.

Lipscomb shot 39 percent from the floor, hitting 20-of-51 shots, while LSU went 40-of-75 for a 53-percent clip.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After LSU took a 5-0 lead to start the night, Will Pruitt took a pass from Greg Jones and buried a triple to start the scoring for the Bisons.

The Tigers got the 3-ball rolling in front of their home crowd behind Efton Reid and Darius Days to spark a 10-0 run.

The Bisons responded with an 8-0 run behind makes from Ognacevic and Hazen before Kaleb Coleman splashed in a triple to cut the deficit back to five at 20-13.

Ognacevic and Murr found some room behind the vaunted LSU defense at the rim, but the Tigers continued to knock down triples.

The Tigers quickly ran off 11-straight points to put Lipscomb in a 43-22 hole with 2:16 on the clock before back-to-back buckets sent the Bisons into the locker room trailing 48-24.

LSU opened the second half on a 7-2 run and never looked back. Midway through the period, the Tigers reeled off a 16-2 run to grab their largest lead of the night at 93-51.

Coleman, KJ Johnson and Trae Benham all sank threes in the final 2:51 to get the game to the final score.
