FLORENCE, Ala. – Lipscomb Baseball fell 12-2 to North Alabama Friday evening in Atlantic Sun play.
Despite notching seven hits, the Bisons struggled for the timely hits to drive runs across home plate. Errors also plagued the Bisons, allowing seven unearned runs. On the other side, the Lions got hot early and didn't slow down, barreling 11 hits.
Lipscomb's first run came early in the first inning for a 1-0 lead.
Haddon Adams worked a leadoff walk and stole second, getting himself in scoring position.
Chaz Bertolani delivered his 15
th RBI of the season with a single up the middle to drive Adams home for the lead.
The Lions tied the game 1-1 in the bottom of the first inning and didn't look back. North Alabama scored 11 unanswered runs from the third to seventh innings to stretch its lead 12-1.
The final run of the night came in the top of the ninth with a leadoff home run.
Maddux Houghton's third long ball of the season cleared the left field fence to cut the lead 12-2.
