Bisons Tied In Third After First Round Of Craft Farms Intercollegiate

GULF SHORES, Ala. - The Lipscomb men's golf team is tied for third place at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate after playing the first 18-holes on Sunday afternoon.

The Bisons fired a team-total of 291 on the first day of competition, which is just five strokes behind tournament leader Louisiana at 286.

Austin Aliff led the Purple and Gold in the first round posting a 1-under, 71. His day was fueled by five birdies and an eagle on his scorecard. He'll enter the second round tied for eighth in the medalist race.

Linus Samuelsson is just a stroke behind and is tied for 12th after an ever-par, 72 outing.

A. Jacks Green and Jack Morris are just inside the top-25, tied for 22nd. The duo each carded a round of 74.

"Finally the team experienced some good weather and the men started well," Director of Golf Will Brewer said. "We continue to see growth and maturity and for the coaching staff, that is huge. Proud of the entire team and especially the amount of birdies the team made today. Confidence was evident and we are hoping the trend continues in the next two rounds."

Play will continue tomorrow morning with the second round.
