NASHVILLE – Lipscomb Baseball (9-12, 3-5 ASUN) fell 9-7 to Bellarmine (9-15, 5-6 ASUN) Friday afternoon at Ken Dugan Field. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Max Habbeger earned his fifth start of the season on the mound. He was dealing through the first four innings, keeping the Knights off the board. 
• The Bellarmine pitcher was equally effective through the first four innings holding Lipscomb scoreless. 
• Bellarmine took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fifth with a double down the left line that scored both runs. 
• The Bisons got a run back in the bottom of the seventh. Malik Williams worked a two-out walk and was pushed to third on a single from Carter Smith. Maddux Houghton then delivered the RBI with a base knock to center field, cutting the Bellarmine lead 2-1. 
• Lipscomb nearly got the tying run in the bottom of the seventh when Chris Bashlor laced a ball through the left side, but Chaz Bertolani was thrown out at home in an impressive defensive play by the Knights. 
• After a scoreless eighth, the offense on both sides fired up for the ninth inning. The Knights plated five runs to increase its lead 7-1. 
• Robbie Merced and Maddux Houghton worked walks to give Lipscomb a couple base runners and Haddon Adams delivered a two-out homer to get the squad back within two runs, but they were unable to plate the tying run and fell 7-5. 

 
HERD NOTES

• Bellarmine outhit Lipscomb 13-7. 
• Williams was the only Bison to have multiple hits (2). 
• Matthew Maldonado threw 1.1 scoreless innings. Tyler Drabick and Caleb Williams also worked in relief on the mound.
