Estes promoted to Assistant Coach

NASHVILLE – Lipscomb Volleyball head coach Brandon Rosenthal announced Friday the promotion of Brittnay Estes to assistant coach.

The Lipscomb volleyball alumna joined the staff in the summer of 2020 as a volunteer coach following her return from Los Angeles, California.

"We're extremely excited with the addition of Brittnay Estes to our staff," said Rosenthal. "Brittnay has had an awesome career here as a player and a volunteer coach and now we are excited to have her as a full-time member of our staff."

After graduating from Lipscomb in 2016 with a bachelor's in Journalism and New Media, Estes completed an Educational Studies master's program at Loyola Marymount University in California. She went on to play in the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP), the largest premier beach volleyball tour in the country.

During her time as a member of the Bisons, Estes led the squad from the pin as an outside hitter and helped Lipscomb to its sixth ASUN Championship title. She received two all-conference team selections, was twice named to the all-tournament team and earned Player of the Week honors four times. She was also named ASUN Player of the Year and Tournament MVP her senior season.

Estes ended her career with 896 kills, 627 digs, and 174 blocks, a force to be reckoned with both offensively and defensively.

"Obviously, as a player Brittnay did some amazing things – she capped off her career with a championship and Player of the Year honor and then went out to Loyola Marymount to play beach volleyball and stayed out in California for some time. It's exciting to have her back here," Rosenthal added.

Never straying far from volleyball, Estes spent time in California as a color commentator at Loyola Marymount and the Marketing Director at WestCoast Beach Volleyball Club following her beach volleyball career at LMU.

"She did a phenomenal job this past season with us in truly an uncharted time," said Rosenthal. "I continue to be impressed with who she is in the office and on the court and then outside of that as well.

"Brittnay has grown into a really special individual and is someone that I know our girls will be able to grow from."

In her first season on staff this past spring, Estes helped lead the team to its seventh ASUN Championship title, securing the program's historic stance as the winningest program in contemporary conference history.

Her expertise helped the coaching staff guide five players to dominant seasons, which garnered postseason recognition with two first team nods, two second team nods, and three all-freshman selections. That group also earned three spots on the AVCA All-South Region team, another as honorable mention and Delaney Dilfer brought home the Region Freshman of the Year.

"Brittnay is a prime example of what LUV is all about and I'm excited for her to be one of our spokespersons in an assistant coach's capacity and continue her story with Lipscomb Volleyball and Lipscomb University," said Rosenthal. "This is truly a special day for us and a special day for me as somebody that has watched Brittnay grow over the past ten years."
