THE SHORT STORY: Lipscomb fought back from a 3-1 second-half deficit to earn a gritty point on the road to stay undefeated on the season.

QUICK FACTS:
  • The Bucs got on the board early in the 6' minute for a 1-0 lead.
  • Hayes Wood found the equalizer in the 48' minute.
  • The Bucs quickly regained the lead with two goals just seconds apart to make the score 3-1 in favor of ETSU.
  • Louis Robinson got Lipscomb back on the scoresheet in the 76' minute when he converted from the penalty spot to cut into the Bucs' lead 3-2.
  • Lipscomb kept fighting and found yet another equalizer in the 86' minute when Scott Gulden notched his second goal of the season.
  • Neither team was able to find the winner resulting in a 3-3 tie.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Bucs struck first when they converted on an early breakaway opportunity to put the Bisons at an early 1-0 deficit.

Lipscomb was the aggressor for much of the first half with several looks at goal but were unable to put anything away in the first frame.

The Bisons came out of the halftime break firing on all cylinders and quickly equalized in the 48' minute. Hayes wood forced a turnover in ETSU's defensive third and linked up with Bakary Bagayoko who played the ball back to the feet of Wood who was waiting at the back post. He found the back of the net for the second time this season.

Against the run of play, ETSU found a couple of opportunities and finished a couple of back-to-back goals in the 76' minute to jump out to a 3-1 lead.

The Bisons continued to pressure in their attacking third and were awarded a penalty kick in the 76' minute when Luca Naumann was taken down in the box on a shot attempt. Robinson stepped up to the spot and converted the penalty to get the Bisons back within a goal.
A late equalizer came in the 86' minute for the Bisons when Thomas Priest linked up with Noah Gulden on the far wing. Noah Gulden played a ball across the front of goal that Scott Gulden was waiting to finish inside the near post for a 3-3 match.

After a scoreless first overtime period, Michael Sibley kept the Bucs off the board with a brilliant save in the 105' minute.
