Volleyball adds High Point transfer Connelly Renfrow

NASHVILLE – Lipscomb volleyball head coach Brandon Rosenthal has announced the addition of transfer of defensive specialist Connelly Renfrow to the Bison roster.

A native of Winter Park, Florida, Renfrow spent the past two seasons at High Point University, aiding the Panthers to a 24-7 overall record and a first-place finish in the Big South. Renfrow has three years of eligibility remaining.

"We're excited to have Connelly as a Bison," Rosenthal said. "She brings a great passion for the game, but beyond that, her skillset is rooted in her passing.

"She also has a great passion for life and it will be a lot of fun adding that to our group already here."

This past season Renfrow appeared in all 31 matches for the Panthers, starting 12. She was also just one of four players to see the floor in all 107 sets.

The Geneva School graduate recorded 205 digs on 1.92 digs per set, while collecting 47 assists and 20 service aces.

In her first season at High Point, Renfrow appeared in 21 sets over 13 matches, totaling five digs and two aces while helping the Panthers to a 17-1 record, a Big South tournament title and a NCAA Tournament berth.

Her squads combined to go 31-1 over two seasons in conference games and defeated Central Florida 3-2 in the first round of the 2020 NCAA Tournament.

"I chose to attend Lipscomb because of the small school environment in a big city, as well as the academics and the emphasis on religion," Renfrow stated. "I like the conference and competitiveness the volleyball team brings on the court. The coaches stood out among the rest and I really agree with their values and beliefs for the team."

Renfrow finished her high school career with 690 digs and 150 aces as a varsity player. She led The Geneva School to its first-ever 2A Florida State Title in 2018 and the Final Four in 2019, along with Runner-Up finishes the three years before the title.

A 3-time team captain, Renfrow was named the Player of the Year by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association during her state-title winning junior year and made the All-State team her senior year. Renfrow was also named to the All-District team her last two years, garnering All-District MVP honors as a junior.

"Connelly is a tireless worker and someone who isn't afraid of a challenge," Rosenthal said. "Over the next couple of years she will really add to the core passing and defense of this program."

Renfrow is the daughter of Samantha and Randy Renfrow and has three younger siblings - two brothers (Noble, Preston) and one sister (Charlotte).
