SCORING SUMMARY
  • Hayes Wood got on the board first in the 14' minute for a 1-0 Lipscomb lead.
  • Memphis found the back of the net in the 90' minute to tie it 1-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lipscomb was on the attack early and had a lot of chances in the opening minutes with a big opportunity coming in the 8' minute when Wood crossed a ball that Jelldrik Dallmann nearly got a head on, but the Memphis keeper snatched the ball to keep the Bisons off the board.

After a flurry of Memphis shots were snuffed out by the Lipscomb defense, Tyrese Spicer got the ball in the midfield and raced up the field and played a ball to Wood on the right wing. Wood cut back in and got off a right-footed shot from the top of the box that he curled around a couple defenders and the keeper for a 1-0 Lipscomb lead.

The Bisons controlled possession for much of the remainder of the half, but Memphis' defense held strong and kept Lipscomb from notching another before the halftime break.

Memphis settled in a bit in the beginning of the second half, but the Bisons were still able to create good chances in its attacking third. In the 59' minute, Spicer had a good look when a good buildup from the right side gave him a shot at goal that forced a Memphis save.

Shortly after coming into the game for the second half, Malachi Jones had a good look in the 63' minute, but his shot was blocked for a Lipscomb corner kick.

Spicer continued to cause problems on the left side and unleashed a shot in the 71' minute that skirted just wide of the far post.

The Bisons had a pair of headers in the 82' and 85' minutes that were saved or just wide to keep the score 1-0 in favor of Lipscomb.

Lipscomb nearly finished off the shutout, but in the last 20 seconds, a Memphis throw that came into the box found the foot of a Tiger and they were able to get on the board in the waning seconds for a 1-1 game.
