CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Lipscomb Volleyball defeated Queens on the road Friday 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-17), to improve to 11-10 (8-2, ASUN).
Six Bisons recorded kills on the night with
Logan Gish leading the way with a season-high 12 kills. Addi Pelham and Caroline Stogner also recorded double-digit kills with 11 and 10, respectively.
Defensively, Delaney Smith once-again led the way with 18 digs while Stogner contributed 14. Kailee Bass led the squad with three block and Gish and Pelham both added a pair each.
SET 1
- Lipscomb started the match on a high note with a service ace by Sophia Hudepohl and won six of the next eight points to take an early 6-2 lead.
- Queens, however, didn't let the Bisons pull away, and went on a 7-4 run of its own to tie the set at 10 all.
- After trading points for the next portion of the set, the teams were once-again knotted at 18.
- The Bisons finished the set on a 7-2 run with a balanced attack, winning the first set when Hudepohl served another ace for a 1-0 lead.
SET 2
- Once again, Lipscomb was the aggressor out of the gate and won the first point of the second set and jumped out to a 6-4 lead.
- The Royals were hanging around however until the Bisons utilized a 6-1 run, with the help of a pair of kills from Bass, to jump out to a commanding 15-9 lead.
- The remainder of the second set was all Lipscomb as the squad finished out the set 25-17 to take a two-set lead.
- The Bisons never trailed in the set.
SET 3
- The third set was evenly matched through the first 18 points as the squads were tied up 8-8.
- After things were knotted up, a 7-3 Lipscomb run gave the Bisons some breathing room with a 15-11 lead.
- Queens fought back and got back within a point, 16-15, but a Stogner kill gave Lipscomb back the momentum.
- The Bisons closed out the match on fire with a 9-2 run to take the set 25-17 and close out a quick 3-0 ASUN victory.
HERD NOTES
- Lipscomb hit well all night, out-swinging the Royals .343-.161.
- The Bisons finished the night with nine aces to Queens' three.
- Lipscomb has won six-straight ASUN matches.
