NASHVILLE – Lipscomb Women's Soccer and head coach
Kevin O'Brien announced the signing of five talented transfers on Thursday.
"We are super excited about the five players we have transferring into Lipscomb in January!" said O'Brien. "All of these girls are tremendous soccer players whom fit our 1 Cor 10:31 culture perfectly. They are bona fide competitors that will raise the collective talent of an already strong squad."
KK Pavatt will join the squad as a transfer from Mississippi State where she competed for two seasons. While with the Bulldogs, the Conway, Ark. Native played and started in 31 matches and notched one goal and four assists as a forward. She helped Mississippi State to a 2022 NCAA Tournament second round appearance.
Coach had this to say about KK, "We are beyond excited to add KK to our team! She is a talented all-around player and could play many positions, but we see her in a forward position for our team. I saw her score many goals this past summer for the Charlotte Eagles and know she can have an immediate impact in our attack. Off the field, I know that KK will thrive in our environment! She's a high energy person that loves to engage in conversations with peers, adults and anyone in her circle of influence. She experienced a freedom and joy this summer playing as part of a sports ministry and, with a similar culture here in Nashville, I am confident that we will get the best of her here at Lipscomb."
The second addition to the Lipscomb squad this January is Sara Kile. Kile is a goalkeeper from Noblesville, Ind. That will transfer from Purdue. As a freshman in 2021, she helped Purdue advance to the NCAA Tournament Second Round and earned a Big Ten runner-up finish. Between the pipes, Kile made 10 appearances and nine starts over the last two seasons.
Coach had this to say about Kile, "Sara is a fantastic goalkeeper that has height, athleticism and a pair of sure hands! She makes hard saves look easy and her ball striking and distribution is a welcomed addition to the team. Off the field, it will be fun to see Sara develop life-long friends at Lipscomb that are chasing after the same things she is chasing after in her life! She is thoughtful, kind and the type of person that I'm really excited to get to know more over the coming years."
Another addition to the squad is Paige Archbold, a defender hailing from Fort Wayne, Ind. She will transfer from the University of Kentucky where she played two seasons. While with the Wildcats, she made 21 appearances with five starts and dished out an assist.
When asked about Archbold, coach had this to say, "We cannot wait to have Paige patrolling the back line for our team in the future. She is an intelligent defender with very good athleticism and a knack for coming up with goal saving blocks and we absolutely love that kind of commitment! On top of that, Paige's distribution is strong and she will help us building out of the back. Off of the field, Paige's heart aligns perfectly with our mission of serving God with soccer and I cannot wait to see her come alive in our environment."
Kiara Pralle will join Lipscomb in January as a transfer from Charlotte. The defender is originally from Bourbonnais, Ill. And played for the Niners for two seasons. The Conference USA All-Freshman Team selection played and started in 35 matches over the last two seasons at Charlotte where she scored a goal ad dished out four assists.
Coach added this about Pralle, "What a tremendous signing we've got in Kiara. She was an All-Conference player in C-USA and is an absolute spark plug of a player. She's fit, fast and never allows an opponent a moment of rest. I know that she will cause opposition teams trouble with her combined fitness levels and the sheer commitment she has to outwork whomever she is playing against! She has an engine that's similar to her new teammate
Shelby Craft and can play as a fullback, wingback or winger due to that endurance. Off the field, Kiara is an absolute home run for our program here at Lipscomb. She loves the Lord and plays for Him each and every day. She has a great sense of humor, loves to laugh and is engaging as well and you can never have too many players like that! We are thrilled she has chosen to be a Bison!"
The final addition to the Lipscomb squad is Lucy Ream, a transfer from Eastern Kentucky. A midfielder from Fox Chapel, Pa., Ream played two seasons at Eastern Kentucky where she played in 37 matches with 36 starts. She notched four goals and five assists during her career as a Colonel.
Coach O'Brien added this on Ream, "We've been wanting to sign a left footed winger/wingback for the last few years and it's just not happened. We are excited to say that we've finally gotten that player in Lucy! She is quick and skillful and loves to run at defenders. She has a sweet left-footed service and I am confident that she will have an immediate positive impact on the team. Off the field, Lucy is sweet, kind and has a humility that is so very refreshing. Her faith is understated but genuine and I am so impressed with how she carries herself! I believe that she is going to have a wonderful career at Lipscomb and I am beyond thankful that she chose to stay in conference. She was an ASUN All-Conference performer the last two seasons and I believe that the best is still to come.
The addition of these five players will boost an already talented lineup of returners as the Bisons will look to continue at a level of excellence.
Coach O'Brien continued, "We believe these additions will help us create the environment needed to get back to an ASUN Championship. Our future is brighter today because they've said "YES" to joining us on the amazing journey God has for this team."
