
Asadullah leads Bisons ASUN postseason basketball honors

ATLANTA – Lipscomb's Ahsan Asadullah, Trae Benham and Parker Hazen were all honored Tuesday when the ASUN Conference announced its Men's Basketball postseason awards for the 2021-22 season.
Asadullah was voted an All-ASUN first teamer for the third-straight season, while Benham was named to the All-Freshman Team. Asadullah, along with Parker Hazen, also landed spots on the ASUN All-Academic team.
It marks the sixth straight season the Bisons have had a first team selection.
AHSAN ASADULLAH | FIRST TEAM ALL-ASUN, ALL-ACADEMIC
Asadullah becomes only the 11th player in conference history to early three ASUN First Team honors, joining former Bisons Garrison Mathews and Adnan Hodzic.
He is the only player in the country averaging at least 14.9 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, regardless of position. He is also one of only 16 players in Division I who leads their team in points, rebounds and assists.
The Atlanta native ranks 2nd in the ASUN with 12 double-doubles (19th in NCAA) and is the only player in the league that ranks in the top 5 in scoring (7th), rebounds (2nd) and assists (8th).
Asadullah has 18 games this season of 10+ points, 13 games with 10+ rebounds and 14 games with 5+ assists.
He earned a spot on the ASUN All-Academic team for a 3rd-straight season after carrying a 3.43 GPA majoring in Marketing.
TRAE BENHAM | ALL-FRESHMAN
Benham has been a revelation for the Bisons in conference play, bringing an unconscious shooting touch and adding a touch of physicality from the guard position.
He has played in 22 games overall, but most have come in ASUN play, where he's started nine of the 14 games played.
The freshman is averaging 9.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and is shooting 40.9 percent from three-point range in league play, which is the highest mark among true freshmen in the ASUN. His 43.8 percent clip from deep overall ranks 5th-best in the league.
The Concord, North Carolina product has eight games this season of 10+ points, seven of those have come in league play. He also has seven outings with at least 3+ three-pointers made, including a career high 6 in the finale against Central Arkansas.
Benham is averaging 19.1 ppg over his last three games, two of which include 20+. He has season highs of 26 points, eight rebounds, three steals and six threes made

PARKER HAZEN | ALL-ACADEMIC
Hazen landed on the ASUN All-Academic team for the first time in his career after carrying a perfect 4.0 GPA while pursuing a Masters in Organizational Leadership.
The Columbia City, Indiana native is having the best season of his career after averaging 8.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game with starts in all 31 games for the Bisons.
His 57.7 FG% leads the team and ranks 6th-best in the conference, while his 166 total rebounds are 10th most. He has 12 games this season with 10+ points and has reeled in at least five rebounds in 24.
The Bisons will kick off the ASUN Championship at 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday against the East Division's No. 5 seed North Florida in Allen Arena. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
