Game One

Lipscomb's offense got off to a slow start in game one of a Sunday doubleheader and Georgia took advantage, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

The Bisons had a good opportunity to tie things up in the top of the third when Ethan Stamps and Chaz Bertolani led off with back-to-back singles. A pickoff and a couple of fly balls, however, ended the inning, stranding a pair of Lipscomb runners as Georgia kept the 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the inning, Georgia notched a couple hits and took advantage of a Lipscomb error to load the bases with no outs. With his back against the wall, Buxton punched two out with a pair of swinging strikeouts to retire the side and keep the Bulldogs' lead manageable.

After another scoreless Lipscomb inning, Buxton came up big on the mound in the bottom of the fourth. After getting into a bases-loaded jam, Buxton got the final out of the inning swinging to strand the bases loaded once again.

Stamps notched his second-consecutive multi-hit game against Georgia with a double to leadoff the fifth inning, but three quick outs stranded him there. Georgia increased its lead in the bottom of the fifth with a pair of runs to take a 3-0 lead.

The Bulldogs added to its lead in the bottom of the sixth with a two-out rally, plating five more runs for an 8-0 lead.

Lipscomb cracked the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh with a pair of hits. Lundgrin delivered his second base hit of the day with a single up the middle. Stamps continued his hot streak with his third hit of the day, this one a home run over the right field fence. His first career long-ball cut into Georgia's lead 8-2.

Georgia added a run in the bottom of the eighth for a 9-2 lead. The Bisons were unable to plate any runs in the ninth inning as Georgia came away with the 9-2 victory.

Game Two

In game two of the doubleheader, the Bulldogs got out to another quick start with an early 2-0 lead after the first inning.

The Bisons responded with big bats in the top of the second. With one out, Trace Willhoite started the spark with a double down the left line. For the second-consecutive game, Stamps delivered a two-run home run. The long ball tied things 2-2 for Lipscomb. The bats stayed hot as Tiger Borom doubled to left center and advanced to third on a wild pitch. He scored when Caleb Ketchup delivered a sacrifice fly for a 3-2 Lipscomb lead. John Shields hammered Lipscomb's fourth extra-base hit of the inning, but he was picked off to end the inning.

After a three up, three down inning for Logan Van Treeck and the Lipscomb defense to end the second, the Bisons added to its lead in the top of the third. Lundgrin got things going with an infield single and advanced to scoring position on a throwing error. He scored when Rudy Maxwell double to left field for a 4-2 Lipscomb lead. Willhoite got another hit to put runners on the corners, but a strikeout ended the inning with a two-run Lipscomb lead.

The Bulldogs scored an unearned run in the bottom of the third to shave Lipscomb's lead 4-3. After a scoreless top of the fourth, relief pitcher Tylere Lege worked the entire bottom of the inning and got a ground ball and a pair of strikeouts to keep the Lipscomb lead at a run.

Georgia retook the lead, 5-4, in the bottom of the fifth after it scored two runs on three hits. The Bulldogs added to the lead in the sixth with a three-run homer for an 8-4 lead heading into the final three innings.

Malik Williams, the only Bison in the starting lineup without a hit through the first six innings, got in on the action in the top of the seventh. He dropped a one-out double to right field, but he was stranded there as the game would head to the bottom of the seventh with Georgia leading 8-4. The Georgia lead increased by a run in the home half of the seventh.

Down to Lipscomb's last out, Maxwell sat on a fastball and hammered a solo home run over the left field fence for the final run of the game before Lipscomb ultimately fell 9-5.
