Holan earns top-10 finish to lead men's golf at Mossy Oak

WEST POINT, Miss. – Lipscomb men's golf wrapped up regular season play on Tuesday down in West Point, Mississippi as the Bisons took home a 12^th-place finish at the Mossy Oak Collegiate Championship.

The Bisons ended the week at +15 with a total score of 879 (299-289-291), tying Michigan and ULM.

Will Holan earned his first top-10 finish of the season after shooting -3 for the week. He posted rounds of 74 and 69 on Monday before carding a -2, 70 in the final 18. He tied for ninth overall.

Ford Goldasich wrapped up a consistent two days, finishing tied for 37^th at +2, 218. He shot rounds of 72-73-73.

"We continue to see growth and desire," head coach Will Brewer said. "We see a strong balanced team. Will Holan led the way this week. Jason Hong had an excellent ball-striking week however struggled around and on the greens. Ford played a bit up and down but solid nonetheless. Austin was steady but had a stretch where he failed to execute. Alejandro had an off week and struggled the final round.

"We are improving, but must gain more confidence in our putting and scoring wedge shots. Our good is good enough to compete with top 50-70 ranked teams. Our poor putting and wedges will not allow us to compete on the level we are capable. We will regroup and get after it preparing for ASUN Conference Championship that begins April 23."

NOTES

Lipscomb finished the event -4 on Par 5's with a 4.93 average.
The Bisons tied for fifth with 166 total pars and tied for second with two eagles. They also carded 37 birdies over the two days.
Holan tied for fifth overall with a 2.92 average on Par 3's (-1). He also led the team in Par 5-scoring with a 4.67 average (-4).
Hong paced the team with 37 pars, while Holan added 35.
