Holan hangs a 68 on day two, Bisons remain 2nd at ASUN Championship

ATHENS, Ga. – The Lipscomb men's golf team matched its program record for the lowest 18-hole team total in an ASUN Championship on Monday as the Bisons fired a 283 in the second round to give them a two-day total of 573 (+5). The Bisons are still in 2^nd-place overall heading into the final day of action.

No. 36 North Florida continues to lead the field at -5, while No. 36 Liberty made a climb with a 280 to sit one stroke behind Lipscomb in third (+6).

Will Holan caught fired on the back nine on Monday to help him finish the day with a -3, 68. He is tied for third overall at -4 and sits two strokes back of the individual leader Robbie Higgins (-6) of North Florida.

Holan made the turn at -1 with a 34 on the front nine with a pair of birdies before dropping birds on three of the final five holes to give him a three-under score with only two blemishes on the scorecard all day.

Jason Hong climbed into the top-10 with an eve-par round after missing a birdie on 18. The junior turned in three birdies and three bogeys on his scorecard.

Ford Goldasich also shot an even-par round despite starting the day three over after four holes. He got things turned around with back-to-back birdies on six and seven and then birdied 16 and 18 to climb six spots into a tie for 13^th.

Austin Aliff is tied for 30^th after recording a 76 on Monday, while All-Freshman Alejandro Rodriguez climbed 11 spots into a tie for 39^th. Rodriguez turned in four birdies on the round.

With weather moving into the area, start times will begin at 7 a.m. CT on split tees. The Bisons will be in the final groupings off the tee with UNF and Liberty at 7:45 a.m. CT. Fans can follow along with the live scoring HERE.

CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES

Lipscomb continues to lead the field in par-3 scoring with a 3.08 average (+3), and ranks fifth overall on par 4's (4.16) and sixth on par 5's (4.90).
The Bisons have drained the 3rd-most pars at the Championship (112) and ranks fifth with 27 birdies.
Goldasich is tied for second individually in par-3 scoring with a 2.88 average (-1), while Holan is third in par-4 scoring at 3.86 (-3).
Hong leads the team and is fourth overall with 26 pars while Aliff is one behind with 25.
Holan has drained the most birdies (9) on the team and is tied for the fourth-most in Athens.
