HOW IT HAPPENED:

Lipscomb was on the front foot early and took a quick 1-0 lead in the 3' minute. After earning a free kick, Burl Shepherd sent a beautiful ball into the box where Wood got a head on it and guided the ball into the net for a 1-0 lead.

Purdue Fort Wayne quickly recovered and sent a shot through the Lipscomb defense in the 7' minute for a 1-1 ballgame.

The Bisons continued to hold much possession through the next minutes and found the back of the net again in the 15' minute. Jelldrik Dallman and Wood linked up with Noah Gulden who rocketed a left-footed shot to the upper left corner of the net for a 2-1 Bisons lead.

Once again, the Mastadons were able to capitalize on one of its few opportunities in its attacking third and slotted a goal in the near post for a 2-2 score heading into the final 15-minutes of the half.

The Bisons attack was patient for the next few minutes, playing out of the back and had a promising look in the 44' minute, but the Mastadons defense cleared a shot off the line. Louis Robinson was quick to the throw and found Tyrese Spicer who put a beautiful cross in front of goal that Lopez was able to head inside the far post for a 3-2 lead heading into the half.

After the Lipscomb midfield forced a turnover, Malachi Jones found Spicer on the left side. He flew up the flank and put a ball in front of goal that Dallmann was able to tap in for a 4-2 advantage.

The first brace of the season came from Dallmann for a 5-2 advantage. Wood found Noah Gulden on the wing and he crossed the ball into Dallmann who was waiting five yards in front of the goal. Dallmann banged a shot of the woodwork and in for the brace.

Lipscomb capped off its 6-2 victory with a goal from Smith. He weaved his way through several defenders and bent a shot into the upper right corner of the goal.

The Bisons had a flurry of shots in the final minutes, but the final score stayed at 6-2.
