  • The Bisons quickly leveled with a penalty kick of their own in the 13' minute that Jelldrik Dallmann converted for a 1-1 game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Saint Louis opened up scoring in the 11' minute when the referee awarded the Bilikens a penalty kick after a questionable call in the box. Christian Buendia coverted from the spot for a 1-0 lead.

Lipscomb quickly battled back to level the score in the 13' minute. Tyrese Spicer flew up the left flank and sent a ball in front of goal to a waiting Dallmann who had beat his defender. On his shot attempt, he was pulled to the ground and awarded a penalty kick. Dallmann coolly converted from the spot to equalize 1-1.

The Bisons had another dangerous chance in the 31' minute when it earned a free kick five yards outside the box. Alejandro Lopez took the set piece and curled a shot just below the crossbar that forced a big save from the Saint Louis keeper to keep the Bisons from taking the lead.

In the 34' minute Lipscomb keeper Michael Sibley got in on the action with a save of his own on a set piece to keep things level.

Malachi Jones came off the bench and made a big impact for the Bisons on the left wing. He created several chances including a chance in the 44' minute that resulted in a goal, but it was called off for being offsides.

After a tightly contested first half, the game was tied 1-1 after the first 45 minutes.

The Bisons started the second half on the front foot and Tyrese Spicer caused several problems for the Bilikens' defense. In the 50' minute he nearly put the Bisons ahead when he beat his defender and curled a left footed shot towards the far post. The Saint Louis keeper made a save at full stretch to keep the Bisons off the board.

Spicer directed another shot on goal in the 64' minute with a header but didn't get much on it and the Bilikens' keeper made a comfortable save.

The Bisons mounted a great attached in the 68' minute to score the go-ahead goal. Lopez sneaked a curling shot through the box to force another save and Dallmann collected the rebound. Dallmann whipped in a cross from the left side to Hayes Wood who was waiting and the far post and headed the ball to the upper right corner. Once again, the Saint Louis keeper made the save, but Wood took the rebound and put the ball in the back of the net with his left foot to lift Lipscomb to a 2-1 advantage.

Sibley was once again called on in the 75' minute and delivered in a big way with a fingertip save after a corner kick to keep the Bisons in front.

Another big opportunity for Lipscomb came in the 82' minute when Javanne Smith put a right-footed shot to the far post. The shot clanged off the woodwork, however, and Saint Louis was able to make the clearance.

The Bilikens had a few decent chances in the final minutes, but the Lipscomb defense held on and defeated the Bilikens on the road.
