HOW IT HAPPENED
The Owls started off by earning an early corner in the 3' minute, but the Bisons easily defended the set piece to keep FAU off the board.
In the 12' minute, Spicer put Lipscomb ahead when he collected a corner kick clearance and rocketed a left-footed shot from the top of the box into the top of the net, giving the Bisons an early 1-0 lead.
The next several minutes were played in Lipscomb's attacking third. The Bisons earned several free kicks from dangerous spots, but the FAU defense was up to the task of keeping Lipscomb from tallying another goal.
The Bisons had another dangerous free kick in the 38' minute just outside the box.
Ploutarchos Alonefti struck the ball and directed it on frame, but the Owls' keeper made the save to keep Lipscomb at a 1-0 advantage.
Lipscomb mounted another beautiful attack in the 42' minute from the right side. A cross into the box nearly found the foot of an outstretched
Javanne Smith, but the ball skated just past him.
The squads would head into halftime with Lipscomb leading 1-0.
Lipscomb was on the attack from the opening whistle of the second half and finally broke through again in the 54' minute.
The attack started in the midfield with Alonefti and Will Turner who got the ball to an open
Louis Robinson on the left flank. He sent in a beautiful ball that Dallman skied to get a head on and beat the keeper with the shot for a 2-0 advantage.
Robinson nearly got a goal of his own in the 63' minute when he broke free from his defender and got a left-footed shot off. His shot was, however, deflected just wide of the far post to keep the Bisons at a pair.
Lipscomb goalkeeper
Michael Sibley had a fairly quiet night until the 76' minute when the Owls had its most promising attack, but Sibley got a glove on a shot curling towards the far post to keep the clean sheet in tact.
The last minutes of the game were aggressive from both sides and Lipscomb got off several more shots, but the Owls kept the Bisons at two goals for a final score of 2-0, handing FAU its first loss of the season.
