SCORING SUMMARY

  • Jelldrik Dallmann converted from the spot in the 87' minute to go up by a pair of goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Liberty was on the aggressive early putting pressure on the Lipscomb defense, but the Bisons settled in and started controlling possession. In the 12' minute, Malachi Jones broke through the defense and put a shot on goal to force an early Liberty save.

The Bisons stayed on the attack and Jelldrik Dallmann got in on the attack with shots in the 19' and 25' minutes but was unable to find the back of the net.

Lipscomb stayed on the offensive for much of the first half and had a few good looks in the last minutes of the first half with shots by Javanne Smith and Alejandro Lopez that forced even more saves from the Flames' goalkeeper.

At the half, Lipscomb had outshot Liberty 9-5 and the Bisons directed three of those shots on frame, but neither team broke through in the first half for a scoreless match at the break.

Lipscomb stayed on the attack after halftime with several shots in the opening 10-minutes of the frame, but a pair of saves kept the Purple and Gold off the board.

After back-and-forth action, Lipscomb finally broke through in the 86' minute for the lead. Lopez forced a turnover in the Bisons' attacking third and played a beautiful ball to the back post for a waiting Jones. Jones rose and got a head on the ball for the first goal of the match for a 1-0 lead.

Shortly after, Dallmann was shoved down in the box and awarded a penalty kick. He converted from the spot for a quick 2-0 advantage for Lipscomb.

The Bisons' defense held on for the final minutes of the match for its fourth-consecutive clean sheet of the year to stay undefeated on the season.

HERD NOTES
