  • Queens equalized in the 45' minute with a goal in the final 30 seconds in the half for a 1-1 game at the half.
  • In the 84' minute, Jelldrik Dallmann scored the go-ahead goal for a 2-1 Lipscomb lead.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Lipscomb had a couple good looks early with a header by Dallmann in the 9' minute that sailed just over the crossbar and a shot by Luca Naumann that was saved.

Jones came off the bench midway through the first half and immediately caused Queens problems. In the 29' minute, he nearly got on the board with a shot that skirted just wide of frame, but finally got the first tally of the night in the 36' minute. Building an attack from the right side, Alejandro Lopez connected with Noah Gulden on the wing who put a cross in front of the near post where Jones was waiting to put the ball away for a 1-0 Lipscomb lead.

The final minutes of the half were controlled by the Bisons until the last 30 seconds when the Royals got a goal against the run of play to equalize 1-1 just before the halftime break.

The second half saw more of Lipscomb dominating possession and chances. Just after the opening whistle, Dallmann nearly connected on a go-ahead goal with a header that grazed wide.

Lipscomb continued to pepper the Queens goal with shots but struggled to put many on frame or get much on the shots.

Finally, in the waning minutes of the game, Spicer flew up the left flank and played a ball in front of goal. Dallmann stuck his right foot out and acrobatically directed a heel shot on frame and past the keeper to score the go-ahead goal.

The Lipscomb defense held strong through the final six minutes of play to seal the 2-1 victory and stay undefeated in ASUN play.

HERD NOTES
  • Dallmann scored his team and ASUN-leading seventh goal of the season while Jones scored his third.
  • Michael Sibley made three saves on the night.
  • Lipscomb out-shot Queens 23-11 and directed six of those shots on target.
