HOW IT HAPPENED

Tennessee Tech got out to an early 4-0 lead in its home opener against the Bisons. After early offensive struggles, Will Pruitt drove through a crowd of Eagles and connected on a fadeaway jumper to get the Bisons on the board.

The Eagles, however responded with a pair of baskets and extended its lead back out 9-2 at the 16:00 mark of the first half.

AJ McGinnis got going from range with a three-pointer, cutting the lead back to three, but Tennessee Tech held a 12-7 advantage at the first media timeout.

Lipscomb went on a 6-0 run out of the timeout, taking its first lead of the night, 13-12 with just over 10 minutes left to play in the first frame.

Tennessee Tech, however, responded and retook a 17-13 lead at the second media timeout of the half.

Lipscomb then locked in and went on a 27-5 run to end the half with a 40-22 advantage.

The Bisons never looked back in the second half, as it outscored the Golden Eagles 56-43 in the frame to secure a 96-65 road victory early in the non-conference season.
