HOW IT HAPPENED
The Golden Tigers got off to a quick start scoring in the bottom of the first on a single through the left side, which advanced baserunners to second and third. A throwing error allowed the runner on third to score, giving Tennessee Tech a 1-0 lead.
After their next batter was walked, the Golden Tigers sent a homer to left-center field, increasing their run total to four. Lipscomb got on the board in the top of the third as Kyle Hetherington hit his first homer of the season to right center. The Bisons couldn't add any other runs in the inning for a 4-1 score after three.
Tennessee Tech produced another multiple run inning, scoring five in the bottom half of the fourth. The first run came on a throwing error, while the other four came on a single to center field and a three-run homer to right-center.
Lipscomb finally began to get things going with three runs in their next at-bat. Hetherington went yard for the second time on the afternoon, this time with two runners on to cut their deficit to five runs in the top of the fifth.
Each team added another run to their total in the remaining innings. The Golden Tigers homered in the bottom of the sixth, and Austin Kelly hit a bomb to right field for the Bisons. Unfortunately, Coach Forehand's ball club couldn't hold off the Tennessee Tech attack, falling in a 10-5 decision.
