Men’s Tennis Overcome 7-0 by Northern Illinois Huskies

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb men's tennis welcomed the Northern Illinois Huskies to the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center on Saturday for their first match of the season on their home outdoor courts. The Huskies emerged with the victory after claiming all seven points.
 
Due to injuries, the Bisons competed with five players Saturday afternoon. This meant the squad began the match down one point as they forfeited the match on court six and on one of the doubles courts before play had begun.
 
Once play began with doubles, the two teams hit the ground running for a fast-paced matchup. The Huskies emerged with the doubles point after earning the 6-3 win on court one over Maksim Bogdanovich and Luka Stojanovic.
 
Vikash Singh and Henrique Ushizima took the No. 2 spot for Lipscomb Saturday afternoon and the duo claimed a 6-3 win of their own to give the Bisons some fighting spirit heading into singles play.
 
Despite strong starts on all five courts, the Bisons struggled to close the gap in singles play.
 
The top three courts for the Bisons all fell in straight sets to their opponents from Northern Illinois. Carlos Salas Tulla and Luka Stojanovic took their opponents to three sets on courts four and five respectively.
 
Salas Tulla put up set scores of 6-4, 6-7(4-7), 8-10 while Stojanovic put up scores of 6-4, 3-6, 8-10 on his court before their foes claimed the final points of the matchup.
