HOW IT HAPPENED 

Pitchers ruled the day for both the Tigers and Bisons in the final matchup between the two ball clubs. 

After nearly three innings of no scores, Caleb Ketchup broke the ice for the Bisons, plating himself and Kyle Hetherington after he reached on a bunt, with a homer to left center field.

Auburn brought home a run in the bottom of the fifth on a sacrifice fly to center field. However, Lipscomb added another run to their narrow lead in the next half-inning on a single to up the middle by Alec Gonzalez, bringing Parks Bouck home from second base, extending the Bisons' lead to two runs (3-1). 

The Bisons' Sunday starter Braydon Tucker was dealing in his third start of the year. Tucker allowed just three hits in his seven innings of work. Noah Thompson took over for Tucker before the start of the Tiger's at-bat of the eighth inning, needing six more outs to take game three from the Tigers to avoid the sweep. 

After retiring the first two batters faced, forcing lineout and then a strikeout, the Tigers reached on a double down the left field line and a walk. Then, the Tigers sent a homer to left field to take a 4-3 lead.

Lipscomb couldn't plate a run in the top of the ninth with a flyout and two ground outs, resulting in their third loss of the series, dropping their season record to 5-6. 

HERD NOTES

• Both teams had six hits in game three. 
• Braydon Tucker pitched seven innings, allowing three hits and one run. 
• The Bisons finished with eight homers in the series.
