SCORING SUMMARY
HOW IT HAPPENED
Out of the gate, Queens took the first shot of the night on its opening attack, but
Juan Carlos Rodriguez made a comfortable save to keep things scoreless. The Bisons then turned things up and lived in its attacking third for the first 10 minutes of the match.
Lipscomb earned three corners in the first 10 minutes and connected on the third. In the 9' minute, Alonefti rocketed a low corner kick to Dang who was waiting at the near post. Dang put a hard right-footed shot to the back of the net for a 1-0 Lipscomb lead.
Lipscomb broke through again in the 24' minute when Spicer got the ball at midfield and dribbled through five Queens defenders and rocketed a left-footed shot at the top of the box to the top corner for a 2-0 lead.
The third goal of the night came in the 38' when
William Bryan won a header on a Royals throw in. His pass found the feet of Smith who played a ball to Alonefti. Alonefti switched the field to
Levi Jones who was streaking up the right side.
Levi Jones hammered a right-footed shot to the upper left corner for a 3-0 advantage.
Queens got on the board in the 76' minute with a shot from range that skimmed just under the crossbar, cutting Lipscomb's lead 3-1.
The Bisons responded immediately when
Yuushin Nakagawa was taken down in the box on the resulting kickoff. Alonefti converted the penalty for a 4-1 advantage.
Queens searched for more in the final minutes of the match, but wasn't able to break through the Lipscomb defense.
The Bisons ultimately defeated the Royals 4-1 to open ASUN play.
