THE SHORT STORY
Lipscomb fell 80-59 at Stetson on Saturday afternoon after one of the Bisons' poorest offensive performances of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Stetson got out to an early 5-0 lead, but Lipscomb didn't panic as
Derrin Boyd got the Bisons on the board, driving through a host of Hatters to the basket.
Owen McCormack quickly tied the game up, 5-5 with a triple.
Stetson heated up from behind the arc, helping the Hatters to get out to a lead and keep the advantage over the next few minutes. Lipscomb, however, continued to play its game and kept the Hatters in its sights. At the under-12 media timeout, Lipscomb trailed 20-14.
The Bisons cut the lead to four when
Joe Anderson drained a triple, but Stetson got the lead back out 26-19 at the under-eight media timeout after a Lipscomb turnover turned into a pair for the Hatters.
Out of the break, Stetson scored 12-unanswered to get out to a 38-19 lead before the Bisons got back on the board.
At the half, Lipscomb trailed 45-27. The Bisons were shooting just 36.7-percent, well below its season average, while Stetson was shooting at a 56.7-percent clip and a 57.1-percent clip from three-point range.
Stetson continued to stifle the Lipscomb offense in the second half as the Hatters got out to its largest lead, 53-30 at the 15:58 mark of the second half.
Lipscomb was able to slow down the Stetson offense, but was unable to take advantage on the offensive end. The Bisons' shooting struggles continued as nothing seemed to be falling for the squad.
After one of its poorest shooting performances of the season, the Bisons ultimately fell 80-59 at Stetson Saturday afternoon.
