Biography
2023-24 (Senior):
- Appeared in 11 games on the season, totaling 88 minutes on the court
- Had a season-high 12 points against Asbury (11/11)
- Shot 42.2% from the floor and 37.5% from three-point
- Added three assists, four blocks and two steals on the season
2022-23 (Junior):
- Competed in seven games this season for the Bisons for a total of 47 minutes on the floor
- Made his debut in the Purple and Gold against Campbellsville-Harrodsburg (11/12) with 16 minutes on the floor during which he pulled down five rebounds, an assist, and a block
- Totaled six points this season with a season-high of three points against Covenant (11/21)
- Made a field goal each against Covenant (11/21) and Trevecca Nazarene (12/5) and a 3-pointer against Covenant as well
- Recorded eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks over the course of the season
2021-22 (Sophomore):
DRURY UNIVERSITY (FRESHMAN):
- Transferred from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri with three years of eligibility remaining.
- Led Drury to the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship game after upsetting the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds along the way.
- Started 20-of-21 games this past season for the Panthers, where he averaged 16.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.7 blocks in 29.4 minutes per game.
- Led the team in field goal percentage (51.4), field goals made (129), 3-point percentage (47.7), 3-pointers made (62), offensive rebounds (34).
- He turned in 16 games of 10-plus points, and seven times he scored 20+, fueled by a career high 35-point, 8-rebound performance against Missouri-St. Louis on January 12.
- As a true freshman at Drury, he played in 11 games.
HIGH SCHOOL:
- Prepped under coach Eric Schweain at Marquette High School in Missouri.
- Was a First Team All-State selection in Class 5 and was a Third Team All-St. Louis Metro pick after averaging 16.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game as a senior at Marquette High School.
- Helped the Mustangs to a 20-6 record and the team's first conference championship since 2013.
- Named the Player of the Year of the Yellow Division of the Suburban Conference and was the Most Valuable Player of the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Challenge Tournament held in Springfield.
- Montgomery surpassed 1,000 career points during his senior season and ended his high school career ranked third all-time at Marquette in career points, rebounds, and blocks.
- Also ranked fourth all-time in three-pointers made, fifth in career steals and seventh in all-time assists.
- Montgomery also earned Player of the Year honors in the Suburban West Conference during his junior season after averaging 20.7 points in 2017-18.Â
