Women’s Tennis Sweeps Local Foe Tennessee State

Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb women's tennis traveled North on Saturday to take on local opponent Tennessee State in a matinee matchup. The Bisons earned a sweep over the Tigers to take home their second consecutive win of the season.

Lipscomb's squad looked strong in doubles play, claiming the first point of the match with a 6-0 win from Sofiia Paladi and Mariya Dolzhenko on court two followed by a 6-3 win from Alina Cherniaieva and Sonia Pieczynska on court three.

The Bisons brought their hot pace with them into singles play as the squad quickly tallied six straight singles wins. Sasha Dobranos opened the singles scoring in Lipscomb's favor with a 6-0, 6-1 win over her Tiger foe at the top spot.

Dolzhenko delivered the Bisons' next point with a 6-2, 6-0 win on court four and Paladi put up a 6-3, 6-1 win at the No. 2 spot. A 6-4, 7-5 win on court two from Rut Galindo clinched the Bisons' second win of the season before Pieczynska (6-3, 6-3) and Anja Trbeznik (6-2, 3-6, 10-5) completed Lipscomb's sweep with victories on courts six and five respectively.

Lipscomb's squad will return to action Saturday, Feb. 3^rd at 11:00 AM CT when they welcome the Murray State Racers to Nashville.
