Box Score MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Lipscomb University women's tennis team wrapped up competition at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Championships over the weekend from Middle Tennessee State University. 

SINGLES MAIN DRAW
Sofiia Paladi and Mariia Dolzhenko each picked up wins in the singles main draw. Paladi, ranked ninth in the region, picked up two wins, advancing to the round of 16. 

In her first matchup with Berta Miret of Louisville, it was a 7-5, 6-1 win for the junior. She followed that with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Catherine Denysiewicz-Slowek of Miami (Ohio) to make it to the round of 16. 

Facing off with No. 2 Bridget Stammel of Vanderbilt, After falling 3-6 in the opener, Paladi forced a third set thanks to a 7-4 win in the second set tiebreak. However, Stammel prevailed to win the deciding set, 6-2, to advance. 

Dolzhenko also had a quick start with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Emily Flowers of Miami (Ohio). However, against Valeria Chaikovskaia of Murray State, despite winning the first set, 7-5, the sophomore dropped the next two, 0-6, 4-6. 

SINGLES QUALIFYING DRAW
Sofiia Zhylchuk knocked off Marina Fuduric of Indiana, 6-3, 6-1, in her first matchup of the weekend. Later, she took on No. 9 Sara Watanabe of Cincinnati. After the sophomore won the opener, 7-5, Watanabe rallied to win the next two, 6-3, 6-1. 

In the back draw, Zhylchuk picked up a 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-6) victory over Magdalena Swierczynska of Indiana. 

Serafima Bobrovnikova fell in a touch opening round contest with Elisabeth Dunac of Indiana. The players battled in the opening set, but it was Dunac with the 9-7 win in the tiebreak in the opener. Having the momentum, she followed with a 6-2 win in the second set. 

However, the freshman played well in the consolation draws, winning two rounds. First, she defeated Eloise Swarbrick of Middle Tennessee, 6-3, 6-4. In the round of 16, she cruised past Northern Kentucky's Darya Gneidina, 6-0, 6-4.

On Saturday, she took on Lauren Joyce of Miami (Ohio) in the back draw quarterfinals. Bobrovnikova forced a third set tie-break, but it was Joyce who took the round, 6-0, 3-6, 1-0 (10-6). 

MAIN DOUBLES DRAW
Seeded eighth in the region, Paladi and Dolzhenko made quick work of Anastasiya Zholdakova and Alyssa Getty of Belmont, 8-3 to advance in their opening matchup of the doubles draw. 

In the next round, the duo breezed past Elena Noguero and Germany Davis, 8-1, to advance to the round of 16. 

Unfortunately, Sarah Shahbaz and Isabelle Tanjuatco of Ball State ended the run for the Lipscomb duo with an 8-6 result.
