SAVANNAH, Ga. – Lipscomb Women's Golf continued its fall season at The Southern at the Savannah Golf Club on Tuesday, competing in a field of 13 talented teams.
The Bisons finished 12th place in the field with an overall team score of 946 (+82). Lipscomb consistently improved throughout the tournament, improving its team score in each of its three rounds. The Bisons shot a 318 in the first round before improving to a 315 and 313 in the second and third rounds, respectively. Over the three rounds, the squad carded 25 birdies and 137 pars.
Casey Yu was once again one of Lipscomb's steadying forces and put together the best tournament for the Bisons. Yu finished tied for 30th with an overall score of 233 (+17). Her first round was her weakest with an 82, but she improved with a 75 and 76 in the second and third rounds, respectively. Over her three rounds, Yu carded seven birdies and 27 pars.
Freshman Bridget Craig had a strong performance for Lipscomb with a 235 (+19). She carded a 78 in her first round before posting an 80 and 77 in the final two rounds. Craig connected on seven birdies and 24 pars over the two-day event to tie for 40th.
Lauren Thompson was the next finisher for Lipscomb. She tied for 48th with an overall score of 238 (+22). She opened her tournament with a 78 in the first round which she followed with a 79 in the second round. In her final round, she shot an 81. All told, she had five birdies and 29 pars.
Mariana Rodriguez Chavez tied for 61st with a 241 (+25). She posted round scores of 81, 81, 79 over the three rounds of competition with two birdies and 30 pars. Tzunami Polito rounded things out for the Bisons with a 69th place finish. She had an overall score of 250 (+34) by shooting an 81 in the first and third rounds and an 88 in the second round.
