The Robbie – Women’s Golf to Host First Annual Tournament

NASHVILLE, TN – Lipscomb women's golf is set to host their first tournament named The Robbie from Oct. 24th-27th in Huntsville, Ala.
About the Course
Hampton Cove Golf Course is one of the 11 courses on the RTJ Golf Trail in the state of Alabama. Hampton Cove is home to 54 holes and three courses, including the Highlands, River, and Short Course.
The Robbie is set to be held at the Highlands, an 18-hole par 72 course and one of the most picturesque and challenging courses on the Trail. Highlands was built in 1992 as a public course that is open year-round. With a total length of 7428 yards, the course is surrounded by tree lines and mountains with a majority of water-hazard holes.
Highlands at Hampton Cove Golf Course has been home to the women's golf ASUN Championship for the past two years, where it will take place again this season. The course is also set as one of the sites to host the NCAA regionals in 2026.
Lipscomb's History at the Course
Lipscomb's women's golf program has seen much success at Highlands. In 2023, the Bisons won their first-ever ASUN championship at the course.
Lipscomb's team is anchored by senior Lauren Thompson, who was the ASUN Individual Medalist in both 2023 and 2024 at Hampton Cove. A native of Dothan, Ala., Thompson grew up playing on the RTJ Golf Trail. Thompson ended last season ranked no. 205 nationally after shooting a 54-hole low of -11 at the ASUN Conference Championship.
The Bisons are looking forward to gaining experience in this tournament to help them grow come championship time in the spring. Lipscomb's young roster is rounded out by FIU transfer Casey Yu.
The Field
Lipscomb will be hosting athletes from six other teams for the Robbie. Golfers from two top-100 teams will be in attendance, including three individuals from 11th-ranked Vanderbilt and members of 58th-ranked Louisville.
ASUN opponent Bellarmine will make the trip to Huntsville as well. Other teams playing in The Robbie include Morehead State, Murray State, and Western Carolina. Nine individuals will be competing from Lipscomb, Louisville, Morehead State, Murray State, Western Carolina, and Vanderbilt.
About Robbie
The tournament is named after Robbie Brewer-Davis, a long-time Bisons fan who graduated from Lipscomb in 1974. Robbie is a beloved supporter of all Lipscomb athletics and has a heart for the women's golf program. When not at Lipscomb sporting events, you can find her at her home course, Belle Meade Country Club.
A class of 2019 indictee to Lipscomb's Hall of Fame, Robbie is an avid supporter of the women's golf program and has made great efforts to help progress the sport at Lipscomb. Her brother, Barry Brewer, was also a former Lipscomb golfer who graduated in 1970. The Bisons host a fundraising tournament every August in support of the men's and women's golf programs in Barry's name.
