NASHVILLE, TN – After earning their 11^th ASUN Championship title, Lipscomb women's cross country's Mackenzie Barnett was named the Women's Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league announced Wednesday.
 
From men's cross country, Ben Butcher and Levi Streeval were named to the Men's Academic All-ASUN team.
 
 
MACKENZIE BARNETT – WOMEN'S SCHOLAR ATHLETE OF THE YEAR, WOMEN'S ACADEMIC ALL-ASUN
 
First Team All-ASUN Mackenzie Barnett helped Lipscomb win the ASUN Championship title after placing 2^nd overall at the ASUN Cross Country Championships, running a 16:27.7 in the 5k. Her time was a personal best and just 0.1 seconds behind 1^st place. She started her cross country season off spring, placing 2^nd overall in the Tevecca Opener 5k with a 17:51.9 finish. Barnett was invited to run at the Nuttycombe Invitational Women's "A" Race, where she recorded a 20:53.0 finish in the 6k to lead all Bisons. To finish off the regular season, Barnett ran a 20:24.1 in the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals 6k to place 69^th overall as the second Bisons to cross the finish. Barnett has maintained a 4.00 GPA while earning her BS in Interdisciplinary Teaching 5-k/Dual SPED.
 
BEN BUTCHER – MEN'S ACADEMIC ALL-ASUN
 
Second Team All-ASUN selection Ben Butcher earns his second career Academic All-ASUN honor after a remarkable season. Butcher was the third Bison to cross the finish in 11^th place overall at the ASUN Cross Country Championships with a 24:06.5 in the 8k to help Lipscomb place 3^rd. Butcher opened the season at Gans Creek Classic, where he ran a personal best time in the 8k of 23:59.0 to place 41^st. He also competed in the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals, where he placed 145^th for running a 24:16.2 in the 8k. Butcher has maintained a 3.81 GPA while earning his BA in Sports Media.
 
LEVI STREEVAL – MEN'S ACADEMIC ALL-ASUN
 
Levi Streeval recorded two personal bests this season, one in the 5k and the other in the 8k. His 22^nd place-finish at the ASUN Cross Country Championships was a career-low time of 24:27.5 in the 8k to help the Bisons plce 3^rd in the ASUN. His season-opening race at the Trevecca Opener placed him 5^th overall with a time of 15:20.9. Streeval also competed at the Gans creek Classic and Wisconsin Pre-Nationals where he finished in 127^th (24:45.9) and 238^th (25:52.4) respectively. Streeval has maintained a 4.00 GPA while earning his BS in Biology.
