NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University women's basketball team posted a new school record with 20 3-pointers in a 107-57 annihilation of Johnson University, Thursday afternoon from Allen Arena.
With the win, the Bisons either tied or set new school records in five categories: 3-point field goals made, field goals made, points scored in a quarter, total rebounds and offensive rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Lipscomb got out to a strong start. Up 17-4 at the media timeout, the home team used a 19-2 run to end the quarter to lead 36-6 after 10 minutes.
Lippy made it a 40-point advantage with a
Claira McGowan driving layup.
Ahead 57-21 at the half, the Bisons converted 13-of-20 from downtown in the first half, including 9-of-14 in the first quarter. From the field, the team went 20-of-39, shooting over 51 percent.
For the game, Lipscomb converted 38-of-83 from the field, a 46% clip. From downtown, Lippy went 20-of-43, good for 46.5%.
Lipscomb posted 34 points off of Johnson's 22 turnovers and 36 second chance points thanks to 28 offensive rebounds.

KEY STATISTICS
Six Bisons posted double figures and all 10 that made the floor scored at least four points, led by
Taylor Bowen's career-high 18 on 6-of-12 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds with four dimes.
Olivia Vandergriff set new career highs in points (15), 3-pointers (5) and steals (3) on Wednesday.
Jalyn Holcomb added 15 points with five rebounds, while
Claira McGowan posted 12 points and five rebounds.
Freshman
Addison Melton recorded her first double-digit performance of her collegiate career with 12 points to three connections from downtown.
Elena Bertrand picked up 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists, while
Isabella Pitta picked up 10 rebounds, nine on the offensive glass.
HERD STATISTICS
The Bisons matched a new scoring record with 36 in the opening quarter, tying the 36 that the Bisons did against North Florida on Feb. 22, 2020. The 31 in the final stanza marked the fourth-most.
Entering today's game, since quarters were established in women's college basketball in 2015-16, the Bisons only hit 30 points in a quarter five times.
The 57 points in the first half marked the third-most in a game since the 2009-10 season.
The 50-point margin of victory marked the third-most in program history and the best in a game since the 44-point margin in 2022 against Tennessee Wesleyan.
The Bisons also hit triple digits in a game for the first time since the 2007-08 season when they dropped 123 on Fisk on Nov. 13. The 107 points in a game marked the second-most in school history and the third 100-point affair in Lipscomb's Division I era.
Lippy also dropped 20 3-point field goals, setting a new school record in the category. The Bisons shattered the previous record that happened on March 1, 2014 against Stetson.
From the field, the Bisons also set a new school record for total field goals made with 38, surpassing the 37 set against South Carolina Upstate in 2018.
On ball control, Lipscomb set new program marks in total rebounds (58) and offensive rebounds (28). The previous record of 55 total rebounds was shattered on Thursday, set twice against Morehead State (2013) and North Alabama (2024).
The previous high in offensive rebounds happened last February came with 24 against Kennesaw State.
Individiually,
Isabella Pitta matched the second-highest offensive rebound production in program history with nine.
