Men’s Tennis Takes Down Queens for First ASUN Win of the Season

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb men's tennis welcomed the Queens Royals to the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center for their first home ASUN match of the season. The Bisons emerged victorious, claiming a 5-2 win to put their first tally in the conference win column this year.
 
The match got off to a contentious start with the doubles point coming down to a tiebreak on court three.
 
The Purple and Gold put up the first doubles win as Facundo Perlov and Carlos Salas Tulla earned a 3-6 win on court two before the Royals evened things up with a 6-4 win on court one over Sebastian Dominguez and Krzysztof Wetoszka.
 
Youngsters Matheus Lima and Henrique Ushizima teamed up for a drawn-out battle on court three to finally claim a 7-6 (9-7) win on court three to cinch the opening point for the Bisons.
 
Junior Antoine Testaud kept things going for the Bisons with a 6-1, 6-1 win on court six before Carlos Salas Tulla put the Purple and Gold in clinching territory with his 6-4, 6-0, 6-1 in at the No. 4 spot.
 
Henrique Ushizima then capitalized on the Bisons' momentum with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 win on court two to clinch the match.
 
Freshman Matheus Lima logged an insurance point for the Bisons shortly after with his 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 win on court three.
 
The Royals refused to go quietly, however, and defeated Krzysztof Wetoszka and Facundo Perlov on courts one and five respectively with scores of 6-2, 6-7 (3-7), 2-6 and 6-3, 5-7, 4-6 to end the match 5-2 in Lipscomb's favor.
 
UP NEXT
The Bisons will return to action on their home courts on Saturday, Mar. 30th as they take on the Eastern Kentucky Colonels in a matchup beginning at 2:00pm CT.
