Baseball Secures Fourth-Straight ASUN Series in Sunday Win over EKU

NASHVILLE - Lipscomb baseball earned their fourth-straight ASUN series victory Sunday, defeating Eastern Kentucky (11-28, 8-10 ASUN) in seven innings 11-1.

A Trace Willhoite three-run bomb secured the win in walk-off fashion, as he finished with four RBI on the day and became Lipscomb's all-time leader in RBI during the program's D-1 era.

After two scoreless frames for both teams, Lipscomb got on the board first in the bottom of the third on a solo homer from Mason Lundgrin, his seventh of the year. The Colonels returned the run in the next half inning on a double down the left field line to even the score at 1-1 in the top of the fourth.

The difference in Sunday's win for the Bisons came in the fifth inning, where the Bisons scored six runs, four on bases-loaded walks, one on a sacrifice fly from Austin Kelly, and then the final on a single to second from Adam Fallon to take a 7-1 advantage.

Lipscomb scored again in the sixth on an RBI single through the right side from Kelly, his second RBI of the afternoon, and then in the following frame, Willhoite sent a three-run homer to left field to win the game 11-1 and give Lipscomb their ninth conference win of the season, and fourth series win of the year.
