COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -Â Tennessee Tech finished with 12 hits, including two home runs, and held the Lipscomb baseball team to four hits in an 8-1 win over the Bisons Tuesday night (April 23) at Bush Stadium at Averitt Baseball Complex in Cookeville.
After Parks Bouck gave the Bisons a one-run lead in the first on a sacrifice fly out to center field, Tennessee Tech scored eight unanswered starting with five runs in the fifth inning, including two three-run homers from Gilliand and Bryant IV. The Golden Eagles then added two more runs in the sixth to make it 8-1, which ended up being the final from Cookeville in the second meeting between the in-state foes.
Chandler Giles started for the Bisons on the hill, pitching for three innings while allowing no runs on two hits.Â
POSTGAME NOTES
- Trace Willhoite extended his on-base streak to 24 straight games.Â
- Will Lee extended his hit streak to 11 consecutive games.Â
- Tennessee Tech won the early matchup over Lipscomb this season 9-5 at Ken Dugan Field also during the midweek.
