Baseball Takes Series Over Queens with 14-4 Victory Sunday

NASHVILLE - Lipscomb took two out of three in ASUN play for the second straight weekend with a 14-4 victory over Queens (8-23, 4-8 ASUN) in eight innings Sunday afternoon. The victory was the Bisons' second straight Sunday run-rule win and gave the Bisons their fifth conference win of the season.

Lipscomb scored first in the first inning for the third straight outing against the Royals on a sacrifice fly to right field.

After holding the Royal's scoreless for four complete innings, they homered in the 5th to even the score.

The Bisons quickly answered with a run in the bottom half on another sacrifice fly, this one by Kyle Hetherington who made his second straight start in left field. Lipscomb's offense began to create more separation in the sixth, scoring six runs in the frame to take an 8-1 lead.

Will Lee got the scoring started in the inning on an RBI single to right field, followed by two bases-loaded walks to score two more.

Mason Lundgrin doubled to left field with the bases juiced, scoring all three base runners to put the Bisons up seven.

Queens showed some fight in the top of the seventh, scoring three runs on an RBI double and then a single to left center, which scored two. However, Lipscomb responded again in the seventh with a four-run frame to put the game away.

Two wild pitches allowed the first two runs to cross home plate in the inning, followed by the third bases-loaded walk of the day, then a sacrifice fly from Lundgrin for the fourth run of the inning.

The Bisons then scored two more in the eighth on a walk-off single to center field from Lee to win it 14-4.
