DELAND, Fla. - Lipscomb baseball fell to Central Arkansas in their first game of the ASUN Championships in DeLand, Florida, Wednesday afternoon, 3-0. 

Central Arkansas ace and ASUN Pitcher of the Year Jessie Barker went a complete nine innings and blanked Lipscomb with six strikeouts while holding the Bisons to just three hits. 

The game went scoreless until the bottom of the sixth when the Bears put a two-spot on the board on an RBI unassisted ground out and then a single to center field.

With a 2-0 lead, Central Arkansas added another in the seventh on a single through the right side.

Lipscomb's offense struggled in its first outing of the tournament, finishing with just three hits. The Bisons were held scoreless for the second time this season. 

POSTGAME NOTES:

• The Bisons' starting pitcher, Alex Brewer, had a quality start, pitching for six innings and allowing just two runs, each of them earned. Brewer also struck out three with only three hits allowed in the appearance.
• Central Arkansas starter and ASUN Pitcher of the Year Jessie Barker went a complete nine innings and blanked the Bisons with six strikeouts in 104 pitches thrown.
• Mason Lundgrin earned his 55th hit of the season, while Jacob Tobias and Austin Kelly also had hits on the day.
