HOW IT HAPPENED
 
The opening minutes of the match were largely played in the midfield as both sides worked to find the game. Lipscomb's Bubu Medina go the first shot of the match in the 15' minute from beyond the top of the box, but the ball sailed high as the game stayed scoreless. 
 
San Diego took a 1-0 in the 23' minute when it forced a turnover in its attacking third and put a beautiful finish in the back of the net. The Toreros doubled its tally in the 32' minute for a 2-0 advantage that would hold to halftime. 
 
In the second half, San Diego scored in the 65' minute for a 4-0 advantage. Lipscomb cut into the lead when Karsten converted from the spot in the 69' minute. The Toreros scored four more for a final score of 8-1. Lipscomb played the final 15 minutes with 10 men as a red card was issued to Keegan Yorke.
