HOW IT HAPPENED
Saint Louis got on the board early with a 7' minute strike to take an early 1-0 lead.
The Bisons had its first good look in the 17' minute when
Dan Karsten took a shot from range. The shot was directed wide by the Saint Louis keeper and out for a Bisons corner kick. A dangerous looking ball was put into the area of the back post, but the cross was a touch too high as the ball skirted across the endline for a Saint Louis goal kick.
Saint Louis threatened to double its lead, but
Juan Carlos Rodriguez made an impressive save later in the 17' minute.
The Bisons began to pick things up in the final portion of the first half. In the final 10 minutes of the frame, Lipscomb rocketed several shots, putting pressure on the Billikens' back line and keeper, but were unable to find the equalizer before the halftime whistle.
Lipscomb came out on the front foot in the second frame and were quickly awarded with the equalizer in the 50' minute.
Matteo Colombo received the ball on the left side and streaked up the flank. He put in an inviting cross to the center of the box where the Saint Louis keeper pushed it away, but Bryan was right there to clean up the rebound and equalize the match 1-1.
Bryan had a good opportunity for a brace in the 55' minute when he had a great look at goal, but he didn't get much on the shot and it was easily saved.
The two goalkeepers traded big saves around the 65' minute mark that kept the game level, but that didn't last long as the Bisons found the go ahead in the 67' minute. Colombo continued to be a difference maker and drove the ball into the box where two Billikens converged to take him down as Lipscomb was awarded a penalty kick.
Daniel Stampatori took the spot kick and converted for a 2-1 Lipscomb lead.
The game was back-and-forth for the next several minutes, but Saint Louis continued to push for an equalizer which came in the 84' minute for a 2-2 match.
The final five minutes were tense as Saint Louis had several chances and Lipscomb had one final chance as the clock expired, but the match ultimately ended 2-2 as the Bisons earn a point on the road.
