HOW IT HAPPENED
Trading points back and forth early in the opening set, the Governors used a 5-1 run, including four straight points, to lead 11-7 at the media break.

After burning a timeout, the Bisons earned the side out on an Ella Durham kill and scored five straight to tie the set at 11 points apiece.

Later, tied at 21, a Courtney Jones spike helped the Bisons end the set on a 5-0 run to take the opener, 25-21.

Lipscomb totaled 17 kills and hit .400 in the first set, marking the third time this year the Bisons hit at least .400 in the opening frame this season.

Set two saw LUV sprint out to an early 5-2 lead after two straight kills by Berkley Mischler and a Durham ace.

Trailing 8-6, Austin Pey took advantage of two kills by Taly Cloyd and an Addi Hultquist to even the set at 10, but four straight points by the Bisons, starting with Mischler spike, swelled the lead to 14-10 before the Governors called a timeout.

Despite a service error to give the ball back to APSU, it was very brief, as a setter dump by Sophia Hudepohl gave the ball back to the Bisons. From there, they never looked back, finishing the set on an 11-3 run to win set two, 25-14.

After hitting .400 in the first set, the Bisons improved that mark in set two, totaling 14 kills and committing two errors on 25 swings for a .480 clip.

LUV's dominance continued into set three, as they used a 5-1 start out of the gate.

Later, holding on to a 6-4 lead, an APSU service error started a 10-2 run to swell the lead to 16-6.

The Governors rallied to force four straight match points late in the set, but Mischler's final spike of the night was enough to seal the match and sweep the Governors.

Lipscomb finished the night with a .443 attack percentage, including a .455 percentage in the third set, committing two errors on 33 swings with 17 kills.
