NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb University Volleyball team ended a three-match losing skid with a straight-set win over Bellarmine University, Friday night inside Allen Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bellarmine had the early lead in set one after a block by Kylie Van Hoy and Sarah Turner and a Mya White kill.
Trailing 6-4, the Bisons scored five straight points thanks to kills from
Courtney Jones, Anna Claire Bown and
Ella Durham.
From there, the Bisons took off, as they swelled the lead to 16-10. The Knights attempted a comeback on two separate occasions, but with LUV ahead 20-16, an
Allison Barrick spike helped get the home squad to a 1-0 lead with a 25-16 opening set victory.
In the first, led by six kills from Jones and four by Brown, LUV posted a .385 swing percentage with 19 kills, committing four errors on 39 swings. On the other end, the Knights were held to eight kills.
Lipscomb kept giving Bellarmine fits in set two, despite a service error to give the Knights the ball and a 9-8 deficit. From there, the Bisons ended the set on a 16-5 run.
Ahead 15-14, LUV posted the final 10 points of the set, including three kills by Jones to win the set 25-14 and take set two.
The Bisons did not give the Knights the opportunity to side out as much, as the visitors went 9-of-24 (37%) in the set.
In set three, a 14-9 lead for the Bisons became a 20-10 advantage after two kills and aces each by Jones that helped LUV to a conference sweep over the Knights.

Courtney Jones totaled 13 kills on a .360 swing percentage and added seven digs and two aces.
Berkley Mischler posted 11 kills from the middle block, while

Sophia Hudepohl led a Bison offense that hit .394 on the night (50-11-99) with her 35 assists.
HERD NOTES
Courtney Jones earned her 1,000th career kill in the third set on Friday night, becoming the ninth player in program history to achieve this milestone.
Lipscomb remains undefeated over Bellarmine, winning its 13th straight match over the Knights in 13 attempts since 2021.
