HOW IT HAPPENED
Queens had one early chance on a corner kick, but Lipscomb settled in and controlled the match early.
In the 9' minute,
Levi Jones took the ball up the left flank and put in a beautiful cross that was deflected out for a corner kick. The chances in front of goal kept coming in the early going for the Bisons with another corner set piece in the 13' minute that resulted in a
Diego Ramirez shot from the top of the box that was deflected wide.
Ramirez remained active in the attacking third with another shot in the 16' minute that was deflected just inches wide of frame.
After several minutes of play largely in the midfield, the Bisons earned another attacking look in the 33' minute when Will Bryan got behind the defense and got a left-footed shot that was blocked by a late Queens defender to keep the Bisons off the board.
The match, however, remained scoreless at the halftime whistle.
Queens found more possession in the opening minutes of the second frame. In the 65' minute, the Royals nearly netted a go-ahead goal, but Lipscomb's
Daniel Stampatori stood tall with a goal-line clearance to keep the match scoreless.
Lipscomb had some promising minutes in its attacking third and
Luke Hanlon forced a Queens save in the 72' minute when he rocketed a shot from well beyond the box.
The Bisons continued to pressure and got another look with just over two minutes left in the match when a
Daniel Firek shot sailed over the crossbar.
Neither team was able to find the back of the net for the remainder as the match ended in a 0-0 draw. The Bisons earned its first point in ASUN play with the result.
