NASHVILLE – For the 17th straight time, the Lipscomb University volleyball team defeated Austin Peay State University, as the Bisons swept the Governors to conclude the home schedule, Tuesday night inside Allen Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bisons got out to an 11-3 lead in the opening set after back to-back spikes by
Courtney Jones and
Cora ter Kuile.
The lead swelled to 10 points, 20-10 en route to a 25-14 set one win. LUV posted 16 kills and a .314 attack percentage, while APSU was held to six kills and a -.097 percentage.
Lipscomb picked up where they left off going into set two, as the lead ballooned to 9-4. However, after a Govs timeout, they cut the deficit to 12-9, but an 8-4 run that included a block from
Sophia Hudepohl and
Brooklyn Fuchs made it 20-13.
Ahead 22-16, LUV scored the final three points on two straight kills by
Sydney Strenger and a Fuchs spike sealed set two, 25-16.
20 of Lipscomb's 25 points came on kills, as they hit .515 in the set (20-3-33).
The third set was the most competitive of the night, with three ties and two lead changes. However, that came early in the set. Trailing 3-2, the Bisons used a 7-1 run to lead 8-5 after a Hudepohl ace and a Fuchs kill.
LUV increased the lead to 15-8 at the media timeout, but APSU made things interesting. Ahead 21-12, Austin Peay used an 8-3 run to make it 24-20, but a
Berkley Mischler kill secured the sweep for Lipscomb.

Wrapping up the regular season on Saturday, the Bisons have secured a winning season for the 19th straight year. Entering the 2025 season, LUV is ranked 10th among active schools in the category.
Playing on Veterans Day for the seventh time in program history, Lipscomb improves to 5-2 on the holiday.
