CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Lipscomb University Volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss to Queens University of Charlotte to wrap up the regular season on Saturday from Curry Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a service error by the Royals to get the side out, the Bisons won the next two on a setter dump by Sophia Hudepohl and an attack error by Queens to take the early 5-2 lead. 

From there, Lipscomb used a 9-4 run to lead 15-7 at the media timeout. Along with a service ace by Kelsey Schenck, Cora ter Kuile had two kills during the run. 

The Bisons had back-to-back kills by Berkley Mischler to get to set point, 24-16. However, Queens won the next two to make things interesting, but an Ella Durham spike finished off set one for LUV, winning the opener 25-18. 

In set one, the Bisons used a 73% side out percentage (14-of-19) and had 13 kills to the Royals 11. 

Queens got out to set two with a 3-0 lead before Lipscomb used a 5-1 run to even the set at five points apiece. 

Tied at 11, the Royals used a 6-2 run to swell the lead to 17-13. Later, a Mischler kill made it a 20-19 deficit. However, Queens used 19 kills to Lipscomb's 17 to win the second, 25-21. 

In set three, after Queens won the first two points, Lipscomb responded with a 9-2 run after back-to-back aces by Schenck and kills from Durham. 

The Royals rallied to take the 14-13 lead on an attack error by the Bisons. Finishing with a 14-7 run, the home team had the advantage, 18-16. 

Despite the Bisons cutting the score to 19-18, the Royals pulled away to take the third, 25-21, and lead the match 2-1. 

QUC used the momentum from set three into set four with a 4-1 lead. Even though LUV came back to take the 6-5 lead, the home squad went on an 8-2 run to lead 14-8. 

The Royals cruised to the 25-16 set four win to take the match after totaling 16 kills on a .448 attack percentage and holding the Bisons to eight spikes on a .107 swing percentage. 

KEY STATISTICS
Brooklyn Fuchs posted a career-high 14 kills and committed one error on 25 swings for a .520 percentage.

Kelsey Schenck set a new career-high with four service aces and also dug out 10 attacks. 

Courtney Jones added 11 kills, while Kenzie Kucks had 14 digs. 

Sophia Hudepohl recorded her 37th double-double of her career and the seventh of the season with 43 assists and 12 digs. 

UP NEXT
With the regular season in the books, the Bisons finish the ASUN with a 10-6 record and will be the five-seed in the upcoming conference tournament from Fort Myers, Florida on the campus of Florida Gulf Coast University. 

As of the time of this release, the Bisons do not know their opponent. The official bracket will be announced at the conclusion of play on Saturday evening.
